Grace Cancer Run is the flagship event of The Grace Cancer Foundation with a goal to save at least 25000 lives from Cancer. You can do your bit by joining this global mission to bring awareness and helping in screening the underprivileged for Cancer, early.

In addition to raising awareness, the Global Grace Cancer Run offers an opportunity to improve one’s physical and mental well-being, which may have been adversely impacted by the pandemic. By participating in this event and dedicating your time, you can contribute to cancer screening efforts while also experiencing personal health benefits. If you are seeking an event that allows you to make a difference and enhance your own physical and mental state, this is the ideal choice for you!

Whether you are a seasoned athlete, recreational runner, jogger or walker there are events for all fitness levels:

  • 10K
  • 21.1K (Half Marathon)

Our Objectives for this Run

  • To make a meaningful and significant impact on people’s lives by creating awareness about Cancer.
  • To promote physical activity as a means to prevent and combat cancer in the society and help people lead active lifestyles.
  • To raise funds for screening the underprivileged right at their doorstep, for free.

Basic layout of how the Run will be held:

  1. In-person format (for runners participating in the physical run at Hyderabad – India, and other select locations)

Runners willing to participate in the in-person event at Hyderabad on 8th of October 2023 in either 5k, 10k or 21.1k distance categories can register themselves for In-person race and they will be guided with further details.

Venue for Hyderabad: Gachibowli Stadium; Other select locations for In-person run in India will be available for registration shortly.
Participants from the rest of India and any other part of the globe can register for the Virtual format of the run and extend their support.

The registered runners will receive an e-bib (i.e. a personalized, printable picture) in their respective mails. We prefer that you print it out and pin it to your T-shirt/Running Vest, as we want to make it feel like an event and not a solo run.

On the day of the event, i.e. 8th October, 2023, the runners are requested to start between 5 to 7 A.M. and finish at the latest by 9 A.M., in the respective time zones globally.If, for some reason, beyond individual control the runners aren’t able to start the run between the aforementioned times, they can complete it before the end of the day. And those of you who are not able to run on that day, can do so on any day up to 16th October 2023 and submit their details by or before 23 hrs : 59 mins IST of 16th October 2023.

Submission of time : Strava is the preferred app for recording the run. Please make sure your device is sufficiently charged to capture your entire run. After the completion of the run, the runners are requested to post the distance of the run along with a selfie or photograph with the bib on the chest too.

Note: Runners can record the total time on a watch or any timing or running app and are requested to share the public link of the activity which has date, distance, pace, and the start and finish time to the aforementioned link.

Few apps that offer public link for activities are:

  • Endomondo

Runners are requested to share their pre/during/post run pictures/selfies on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and tag @gracecancerfoundation (FB) @gracecancerfoundation (Insta). We shall pick a few lucky runners from these posts and reward them with goodies.

Advice from the event organizers:

  • The runners are also requested to carry a water bottle or an energy drink and also a few snacks so as to stay hydrated and energized all through the run. The runners are also requested to maintain personal safety during the entirety of the run
  • Runners are requested to run outside, along the safe route of their choice and which has the least amount of traffic. If interrupted by weather complications or other uncontrollable situations, the runners can run indoors. If the participants are unable to complete the entire race, they are requested to run the distance comfortable to them.
  • For the safety of yourself and those around you, we kindly ask that you adhere to social distancing guidelines during the run. Additionally, we urge you to comply with any directives issued by the government or local authorities.
  • Please note that runners are personally responsible for ensuring their own safety as well as the safety of others throughout the run.
  • In these challenging times, the primary objective of this run is to promote fitness and foster social well-being. Let us come together to encourage a healthier lifestyle while also prioritizing the collective welfare of our community.
